Are There Good Home Remedies For Dandruff?

Seborrheic Dermatitis is a skin condition that causes dandruff. It affects the scalp and trunk. The most common symptom of seborrheic dermatitis is dandruff. It appears as shiny, silvery-colored scales that fall from the scalp. Depending on the skin condition of the sufferer, dandruff can either be oily or dry. Both types can be treated.

    Dandruff

Although dandruff is often seen as a cosmetic issue or irritation, it can also lead to permanent hair loss and scalp infections. It’s important to get rid of dandruff quickly. Specialty shampoos are recommended by dermatologists to treat dandruff. They also recommend antifungal and antiinflammatory agents and topical steroids. Cortisone creams can be used to relieve inflammation and itching, but these creams are only prescribed.

    Home Remedies

There are many home remedies that can be used to treat dandruff, in addition to these prescriptions.

    • This is a long-standing use of fenugreek seed. Two tablespoons of fenugreek seed should be soaked overnight in water. In the morning, grind the seeds to a fine paste. Let the paste dry on your entire scalp for 30 minutes. After the paste has set for 30 minutes, wash your hair with a soap-nut solution (ritha) or acacia concinna. This is especially effective for treating dry dandruff. For two weeks, continue the treatment at least twice per week. Then, repeat the process for another two weeks. The water used to soak the seeds can be used as an after-shower hair treatment: let your hair dry naturally after shampooing. Apply the fenugreek seed water to your scalp with a cotton ball.
    • Lime can also be used for removing “stickiness” from hair and leaving it glowing. However, lime is better suited for oily hair. For a final rinse, add a teaspoonful of fresh lime juice to your hair after you have washed it in the shower. Make a paste of lemon juice and fuller’s Earth, a clay-like substance that absorbs oil. Apply this paste to your scalp once per week. This combination will deep-clean your hair. The lemon juice will break down excess sebum (the oil secreted from your skin’s oil glands). The fuller’s Earth will remove dead skin cells.
    • Dandruff can also be treated with beets. After boiling the roots and the tops of the beet plants in water, cool the water and then massage the water into your scalp every night before you go to bed. For this purpose, white beets work better than red beets. Be sure to use old sheets and pillowcases for your bed as the beet water can stain linens.
    • You can also use common items or mixtures to control dandruff if you massage your scalp. Two tablespoons of green-gram powder can be combined with half a cup of curd. This shampoo should be used twice per week. You can massage the juice of the snake gourd directly into your scalp. You can also massage your scalp with curd that’s been left out for a few hours.
    • Dandruff can also be treated with cider vinegar and gooseberry juice. Whatever treatment you choose, make sure to continue it for at least a few weeks until your dandruff disappears completely. The symptoms will return if you stop taking the treatment after a week.
