As a man I take great risk here softly repeating what many females strategy with comedy. For all those women who truly suffer with menopause and for all those around them it’s no joking matter. In the office I have been banned from going near the thermostat. It’s always either too hot or too cold, and we have many girls at varying stages of, shall we say, distress.
There are night sweats, sleep disturbances (They can tell you each app on between 1AM and 3AM nightly.) , dry skin, lost libido, and restless leg syndrome. For many women the sleep deprivation is the true killer. One option for some women is hormone replacement therapy. However, the debate rages on as to the threat of such treatment. In essence, is the cure for menopausal symptoms a lot more harmful than menopause? The jury remains out. Needless to say, as a man I can only offer sympathy and patience. Males involved with menopausal women clinic walking on eggshells on a regular basis.
As with any sort of distress in one for whom we have deep feelings, it’s always tricky to watch helplessly. Most males honestly don’t understand the depth of the discomfort many women going through menopause experience. Psychologically speaking, both spouses need help. Women’s health sites and support groups usually offer you excellent advice. Because we men often have never been exposed directly to the symptoms, we often take the”what is the issue, what is the solution” tact.
This might be hazardous to your health. Although it might be debated pertaining to other locations, with respect to menopause, women can truly say men are clueless. As with the majority of difficulties experienced by couples, the trick to survival is communicating.
Advice to women
Explain to your partner what you’re experiencing. Help educate your spouse, and don’t assume your spouse will automatically know anything about what you’re having.
Advice to men
Shut up and do not attempt to problem solve. You can not fix it, and you’ll only upset the female in your life by providing hints. Just try to be as inviting as possible, and, when requested, help. Understand that lots of women are experiencing the loss of what they consider to be the essence of a woman, and that’s EXTREMELY emotional. And finally, sorry ladies, no I do not think a trip overseas will help your symptoms. Copyright Yellen & Associates 2009-2015. All rights reserved.
