    How To Treat Rosacea At Home?

    Millions of North Americans suffer from Rosacea, a chronic skin condition. Rosacea is most common in women between 30-60 years old with fair skin. This skin disorder is not to be confused with acne. It appears as pink or red blotches in central regions of the face. It is not a serious skin condition unless they spread beyond the eyes.

    It does not require any specific medication. To reduce inflammation and redness, you can use topical treatments.

    • Redness that appears in certain areas of the face. This can be caused by blushing. Sometimes, the red patches extend to the ears.
    • On the cheeks, nose and forehead, small red blisters and protuberances can be seen.
    • The face is covered with small, reddish blood vessels. Rosacea can also cause a reddish bulbous nose, Rhinophyma. Rosacea can also cause burning sensations in the eyes.

    Home Remedies

    Rosacea can be controlled with proven home remedies.

    • This condition is commonly treated with apple cider vinegar. The best way to reduce the symptoms is to add a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to a glass water and drink it twice daily.
    • Hot water can worsen the condition. Avoid hot tea, coffee, and other hot beverages.
    • For hot baths or showers, use Luke warm water. Also, the face must be washed with cold water or lukewarm.
    • Acidic foods can make the condition worse. Avoid Citrus fruits and eat alkaline foods like spinach, carrots, and soups.
    • Get at least 2 liters of water per day.
    • To prevent Rosacea flare-ups, use gentle and alcohol-free face wash products.
    • A few Chamomile flowers can be boiled in water for 10 mins and then strained. The liquid is then bottled and kept in the fridge. This liquid is used to reduce redness and make a face wash.
    • Tea tree oil can also be used to reduce the symptoms associated with Rosacea. While the tea tree oil treatment is underway, it is best to not use face makeup.
